IKOS Systems KK and Fujitsu LSI Technology Enter Volume Purchase Agreement
KAWASAKI, Japan--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 21, 2001--
IKOS Systems KK, the Japanese subsidiary of IKOS Systems, Inc.
(Nasdaq:IKOS), a leading provider of high-performance design
verification solutions, today announced that Fujitsu LSI Technology
will purchase up to $10 million dollars worth of its VStation-15M
emulators over the next 2 years. Under the terms of the volume
purchase agreement, Fujitsu LSI Technology will promote IKOS'
emulation solutions, including hardware, software, licenses, libraries
and services, within the Fujitsu Group as well as outside customers.
The two-year agreement, signed in March 2001, allows Fujitsu LSI
Technology to integrate their own verification technology with IKOS'
emulators, and provide the complete solution to its customer groups.
Fujitsu LSI Technology anticipates that it will purchase approximately
$10 million dollars worth of IKOS' VStation-15M emulators over the
next two years.
``We opened our emulation center last year and have been providing
our verification consulting technology to other divisions of Fujitsu
Group,'' commented Mr. Wada, senior executive director, Fujitsu LSI
Technology. ``Our verification solutions are based on emulators and we
try to stay neutral with respect to hardware vendors. However,
VStation-15M delivers the performance, capacity and flexibility we
need to achieve design confidence while facing intense time-to-market
pressures. With IKOS' products and technologies, we believe that we
are able to establish a high performance verification environment with
high customer satisfaction.''
``Leading edge companies are creating designs in the 6-8 million
gate range today and are projecting that their next design will be
twice that size,'' stated Kensaku Fujimori, president of IKOS Systems
KK. ``The VStation-15M from IKOS satisfies the most complex SoC
verification requirements of today's designs and will meet their needs
for several generations of chips to come.'' Fujimori continued, ``Our
patented Virtual Wires technology allows us to create a new generation
of emulator every 12 - 18 months with a reduction in the cost per gate
to the customer. Our proven track record of product development
enables customers to have complete confidence that we will be able to
keep up with their RTL verification requirements. IKOS products and
solutions will satisfy not only Fujitsu LSI Technology but also our
mutual customers.''
